You hear the line often from novice cooks when asked to dice onions. Yes, all of the above tips are often found on social media, but now, there is a new technique that is doing rounds, impressing many people.

In her video, she holds an onion with its peel removed, while retaining the root side. Holding the root side, she makes vertical slices all around the onion. Then, the onion is tipped on its side and chopped again, vertically and thus, thoroughly sliced pieces are ready in no time. According to the video caption, it took her just 30 seconds to cut a single onion and no tears welled up in her eyes. The video has become viral with numerous people commenting below and liking it. The comments go like this – ‘This is a super hack’, saves a lot of time’; ‘Was tired of cutting onions, but this is fantastic…' Are you game to give it a try?
