There were injuries and bruises on his body: actor Sreenath's wife raises allegations

Thiruvananthapuram: Suspicion has intensified on the death of actor Sreenath after an official in a hotel where he died told police that two people from the film industry had visited the actor in his room just before his death. General manager Joy also said Sreenath was found lying on the floor bleeding sometime after they left.

Manorama News has telecast Joy's testimony to police, which reveals that the two visitors spent nearly 20 minutes in Sreenath's room.

Sreenath had checked into the Maria International hotel in Kothamangalam on April 21, 2010, and was acting in the Mohanlal starrer 'Shikkar' directed by M. Padmakumar. On April 23, the film's production executive Sanju Vaikom and production controller Manoj met Sreenath in his room, says Joy. They came out after about 20 minutes and told the hotel reception that Sreenath has been removed from the movie and that he will vacate the room by noon.

After 20 minutes the hotel reception received a call from the actor's room. There was no conversation; only a groaning could be heard. Joy says he then found Sreenath lying on the floor in his room, and that there was blood on his body and on the floor.

It is not clear as to what transpired between the actor and the visitors or what they might have discussed. Sreenath's family is seeking answers to all such questions related to his death.

Sreenath's wife Latha has demanded to clear the mystery over the actor’s death. It is not clear how and when the injuries and bruises on his dead body were inflicted. His wallet and mobile phone were also suspiciously missing, she said.

The post mortem report which revealed that there were 11 injuries and bruises on Sreenath's dead body is the main reason for the family's doubts. Manaroma News got the copy of the post mortem report.

Six months back Latha filed a RTI petition seeking the case file of Sreenath's death. But Kothamangalam police station replied that it was missing. With this reply, she determined to take up the case once again.
