Dr Naveen Kumar, a native of Thrissur, was an assistant professor at Palakakd Medical College. His wife and son, who were riding pillion, suffered severe injuries in the accident and have been hospitalized.

Manorama News has accessed the CCTV visuals of the accident that took place at Chakkanthara around 10 pm. The car was driven by a 17-year-old boy, hailing from Kurissiamkulam.

The speeding car collided head-on with the bike and mounted the footpath.

Though Naveen was rushed to a private hospital, his life could not be saved.
