Thalassery, Kannur: Three people, including a woman and her son, were killed when the tourist bus they were traveling in fell into the nearby Peringathur river early Tuesday.
Kathiroor native Jithesh, who was also the bus cleaner, and two passengers - Pramalatha and her son Prejith, natives of Chockli in Kannur district, were killed - in the accident. Rest of the passengers have been rescued from the river.
People carrying out rescue operations. Photo: ManoramaAround 5.30 am Tuesday, the bus, which was on its way from Bengaluru to Thalassery, broke the railing of the bridge and fell into the river.
The cause of the accident was not known. The driver, who escaped with injuries, has been admitted to hospital.

A tourist bus fell into a river near Peringathur in Panoor in Kannur district Tuesday morning. Manorama
