Kozhikode: An eleven-year-old boy from Kizhakkuvayal in Chendayad near here suffered injury in his eye when a crude bomb exploded in a deserted house. The victim has been identified as Devanand, son of Chandran and Priya.
Devanand was rushed to Kozhikode Baby Memorial hospital. He is a sixth class student of Gurudeva Memorial UP school.
The mishap occurred when Devanand was playing in the abandoned house in the neighbourhood along with his friends. The bomb exploded when it rolled and fell into the hearth.
The house, where the blast occurred, belonged to one C.V. Mohanan. It had remained closed after the demise of the occupant.
Earlier in the day, a man was injured in a bomb explosion in Iritty while he was cleaning his compound.
