Madrid: European football governing body UEFA has announced that Englishman Mark Clattenburg will officiate in the Champions League final, which will see Real Madrid against Atletico Madrid in Milan on May 28.

Clattenburg, born in 1975 and an international referee since 2007, will be assisted by Simon Beck and Jake Collin, UEFA declared on Tuesday.

The fourth referee will be Hungarian Viktor Kassai and the goal linesmen will be Englishmen Anthony Taylor and Andre Marriner.

Clattenburg has officiated in six Champions League matches this season, including the Valencia-Monaco qualifier, Real Madrid-Paris Saint-Germain group game, Atletico Madrid-PSV Eindhoven first leg in the round of 16 and Atletico-Bayern Munich semifinal first leg clash.

He has also stood in two Europa League matches this season, one of which was the all-Spanish duel between Athletic Bilbao and Sevilla in the quarterfinals second leg.
