In a landmark move, the Foundation has partnered with the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Kothi Bagh, Srinagar, marking the beginning of its national operations.
The incident allegedly happened at Thycaud Government Model School.
The National Education Policy 2020 had recommended that all students in grades 6-8 participate in a 10-day bagless period.
Since the attackers are minors, the police have not registered a case.
It was on June 26 that the DGE issued an order transferring five teachers of GHSS, Changanassery.
These instructions were given during a meeting attended by district-level officers and senior officials chaired by State Excise Minister M B Rajesh.
One after the other, students of the school were taken ill with severe vomiting and diarrhoea. This was followed by the adults, including teachers and parents.
No holiday has been declared for schools in the Pathanamthitta district so far.
The minister also concurred with the argument of the teachers that forcing small children to attend classes for six days a week would yield no academic benefits.
Curriculum committee will decide whether to include these portions in a supplementary textbook or the new textbooks.
