The Congress wrested power from the BJP in the hill state winning 40 of the 68 assembly seats.
BJP won by a thumping majority with victory on 156 seats of the 182-strong Gujarat Assembly.
She was pitted against Congress candidate Bipendrasinh Jadeja.
