If the numbers are to be believed, the Congress will lose even its sitting seats, while the Aam Aadmi Party won't create much of an impact in Gujarat.
The Saurashtra region accounts for 48 out of the total 182 Assembly seats. It has a sizable Patidar and Other Backward Class population and the potential to tilt the power game in favour of or against the ruling BJP.
The election was held in 89 seats across 19 districts of Saurashtra-Kutch and southern regions of the state.
This election will be unique for the second most industrialised state in the country that has long seen bipolar electoral battles.

The Gujarat elections were to be announced in October but had been put off as Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP was making inroads, and the BJP thought it wise to buy more time for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to tour the state and galvanize voters.
