The legislator from Perumbavoor who came out of hiding on Saturday has been suspended from KPCC and DCC for 6 months.
The KPCC chief also expressed regret at how his statement on Shashi Tharoor was misinterpreted. "I merely mentioned that Tharoor lacked experience. I did not call him a 'trainee'," Sudhakaran said.
The KPCC has given Eldhose time until October 20 to give a detailed account of what had transpired.
Leaders including Oommen Chandy, Ramesh Chennithala, V D Satheesan, M M Hassan and K Muraleedharan have shown their preference for Kharge.
The march would resume from Government Arts and Science College at Gudalur around 5 PM on Thursday.
Lending weight to the allegation that the state's universities are rife with nepotism, Sudhakaran said that the Chief Minister has committed a breach of oath and must not be allowed to continue.
The Congress party's 3,570 km and 150-day long foot march started from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on September 7 and will conclude in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sudhakaran was appointed KPCC president in June last year in the aftermath of the Congress-led United Democratic Front’s drubbing in the assembly elections in April.
However, the announcement of Sudhakaran being re-elected as president of KPCC may not be made.
The Kerala leg of the march is expected to conclude on September 29.
