Take a little care, you can retain your car's brand-new look forever

A small scratch on your well-maintained car could bring tears to your eyes. However, it is practically impossible to keep the car away from scratches when you hit the roads. But the damages to paint that are caused due to our own fault could be prevented. Since most cars these days have metallic paints, even if you want to repaint a small portion, it could cost a bomb. Here are a few tips to take care of your car's paint:

Beware of car cover: Some people put on the cover even when the car is parked inside the porch. But do you know that the dust and dirt inside the cover can damage the paint? This happens when the cover is put on and taken out. Hence, make sure that the cover is clean.

Bird droppings: Birds could poop on the cars mostly parked under trees or even shades. Their droppings contain uric acid, a corrosive agent potent enough to damage a car's paint. It can even eat the wax coating or paint sealant and cut through the paint. So, it is important to wipe bird droppings off a car as soon as possible. Leaves left sticking to the body can also cause damage to the paint. Some leaves are acidic in nature and could affect the paint.

High-pressure pump: Experts say that washers could damage the paint. It is better to clean the car with a wet piece of cloth using your hand. If the pressure of the water from the hose is high, it could lead to fading of the vehicle's paint. However, make sure that the cloth or brush that you are using are not dirty or dusty; else they will cause scratches.

To protect your paint, you can also try wax or polishing. The wax coat will act as a preventive shield for the paint. Polishing will help remove the dirt without affecting the paint, besides adding shine.
