New Delhi: Congress president Rahul Gandhi went to the Lok Sabha to lead the opposition’s charge against the BJP-led NDA government with a strangely disarming strategy.

He lambasted prime minister Narendra Modi in his speech, took a break and walked across the well of the house to hug his biggest critic. Then he returned to his seat and winked at his fellow MPs.

Social media were quick to latch on to the hug and the wink. Many were quick to draw a comparison with the previous viral wink, that of Pirya Varrier in ‘Oru Adar Love’. “Who did it better?” someone asked.

Rahul's confident wink was lauded on social media by political leaders including Tejashwi Yadav, former deputy chief minister of Bihar.
