A Shiv Sena MLA has asked the Maharashtra government to stop the release of Bajirao Mastani.
According to reports, Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Sarnaik has raised objections with regard to the portrayal of Peshwa Bajirao in the movie. The MLA from Thane district, in a memorandum submitted to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has urged him not to allow the release of the film till the controversial scenes in the film are not cut.
He further alleged that director Sanjay Leela Bhansali made the film without proper research, adding that it will hurt the sentiments of the Marathi people.
Bajirao Mastani is scheduled to release on December 18.
