Make iftars sweeter with delicious dates unniyappam

With the incredible goodness of dates, nuts, milk and eggs, this special unniyappam makes the iftar parties sweeter. Rose water adds refreshing fragrance and a unique flavour to this dish. Try out the recipe of the dates unniyappam which is easy to make.

Ingredients
1 egg
3 tbsp sugar
3 tbsp all purpose flour
½ cup semolina
8 big dates (chopped)
2 tbsp cashews(chopped)
½ tsp cardamom powder
1 tbsp rose water
2 tsp ghee
Salt as required
¼ tsp baking soda
½ cup milk
Oil to fry

Preparation
Beat the egg and sugar well. Into it add the all purpose flour and semolina.
Mix well.
Add the chopped dates, cashews, cardamom powder, rose water, ghee, salt and baking soda.
Mix everything well together. If the batter is too thick, pour some water to loosen it up.
Keep aside for at least 2 hours for it to rise.
Heat oil in an unniyappam mould. Pour three table spoons of the batter in each hole and fry until golden brown.
Adding some ghee with the oil while frying would make the unniyappams tastier.
