Kolkata: The West Bengal government is preparing an action plan to strengthen the startup ecosystem in the state.

"We are in a process of preparing an action plan for startups. It will be business to business (B2B) kind of thing. There will be a website where entrepreneurs, mentors, angel investors and academicians can interact with each other," Information Technology (IT) department's Principal Secretary Talleen Kumar said.

West Bengal Information Technology (IT) Minister Bratya Basu said the government was pursuing an ambitious plan to be among top three states in the IT space by 2020.

"We want to change state's image. We have set up nine IT parks in the state and seven are in the pipeline," he said at an interactive and felicitation ceremony organised by the National Association of Software and Service Companies (NAASSCOM).
