Thiruvananthapuram: A week after the Supreme Court ordered to reinstate senior IPS officer T.P. Senkumar as the state police chief, the Kerala government is planning to move the court challenging the verdict.

The CPM-led government is likely to file a writ in the apex court Tuesday seeking clarity on the order, Manorama News reported Monday.

The government will seek clarity on issues regarding how the order will affect the incumbent police chief, Loknath Behera.

The apex court had on April 24 ordered the reinstatement of Senkumar, saying he was removed as the state police chief and was transferred by the ruling LDF government "unfairly" and "arbitrarily". However, as the state government did not take any steps to reinstate him, Senkumar had approached the SC with the contempt plea.

Senkumar, in his contempt plea, argued that chief secretary Nalini Netto who had allegedly orchestrated his ouster, was now stalling for time to implement the order.
