Gulf airfares Return tickets to gulf have shot through the roof.

New Delhi: Expatriates, who are spending quality time at home this holidays, have found their happiness cut short as the return flight tickets to the Gulf countries have skyrocketed. Travel agencies claim that this is the highest spike in recent years.

Flights to Riyadh that cost Rs.15,000 during the normal season have been jacked up to Rs.50,000- 80,000. While you need to shell out anything between Rs.30,000 to Rs.80,000 to fly to Kuwait; you need to cough up Rs.75,000 to go to Bahrain.

The flight fare to Dubai that ranged between Rs.5,000 to Rs.10,000 have soared to Rs.40,000. An Abu Dhabi ticket would cost you between Rs.30,000 to Rs.60,000, while the trip to Sharjah would cost you Rs.40,000. However, the flight to Jeddah on an Etihad flight is sure to burn a hole in your pocket as the rate is Rs 1 lakh.

Coinciding with the Onam holidays back home, it is the vacation time in Gulf too. The flight operators are aiming to make most of the holiday season.
