Changanassery: A photo of Jesus Christ holding a flag of the Students' Federation of India (SFI) has sparked an outrage on the social media.
In the photoshopped image widely circulated on Facebook, the statue of Jesus on the premises of SB College, Changanassery, is seen holding the student outfit’s white flag instead of the cross.
The Kerala Students Union (KSU) workers alleged that it was the handiwork of SFI, who had won the college union election the other day. They resorted to such an act after being blinded by the victory-induced arrogance, the KSU said.
Meanwhile, the SFI leadership claimed that it did not have any role in the incident. “The controversial photo was posted by a person who is not a student of SB college. Moreover, we do not know why it is being portrayed as the statue at SB College,” they said.
The SFI is the student's wing of the CPM, largest party in the ruling Left Democratic Front in the state.
