Bengaluru: The Karnataka police have registered a case against actress Sindhu Menon and her brother for defaulting on loan repayment and cheating the bank. According to Bengaluru RMC Yard police, Sindhu and four others had taken a vehicle loan amounting to Rs 36 lakh from Bank of Baroda and failed to repay it.
The case, registered based on a complaint from the bank, names the other accused as Sindhu’s brother Manoj Karthikeyan, Nagasree Sivanna, Indira Menon and Sudha Rajasekhar. However, officials did not reveal whether any arrests have been made. Sidhu, at present, resides in the UK.
“The FIR has been registered and an investigation is underway,” said a police officer.
Sindhu was earlier a busy actress, with several Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu films to her credit.
