Do not fall prey to Nipah scaremongering, say Mohanlal, Parvathy Actor Mohanlal warned that people should not fall pray to false news spread on the internet regarding Nipah.

Even as the Nipah virus scourge continues unabated, film stars have found some time to comment on the issue and display solidarity with the general public. Actor Mohanlal in his Facebook post tried to convey a message in a bid to contain the fear psychosis over the epidemic.

"Everyone must have known about three deaths confirmed in Kozhikode district due to Nipah virus infection. Presently, there is no situation that demands fear or anxiety. However, we can resist this disease through proper preventive measures," the mega star said in his post.

"Without believing the fake news being spread, one should hear and follow the guidelines, safety measures and instructions of the health department. It's a wrong notion that there is no cure for this disease. However, like any other disease prevention is most important. One should definitely seek scientific medical treatment when symptoms are detected," Mohanlal said in the post.

A couple of days ago, actress Parvathy too published a Facebook post in which she praised the nurse named Lini, who lost her life to the deadly virus. "Nipah virus outbreak in Kerala has been spreading panic and creating a lot of uncertainty and stress across the state. At this time of bereavement, remembering the selflessness and sacrifice of Smt. Lini Puthusseri, who lost her life in the process of serving the ones affected with the virus," Parvathy said in the post.

She has also cautioned people against fake news and false information about the disease. "Kindly follow only the news from accredited organization and credible institutions," she had warned in the post.
