Idukki: Four passengers were killed and several injured after a KSRTC bus fell into a gorge near Pullupara on Monday morning. The bus was carrying a group of tourists who had gone on a tour from Mavelikkara to Thanjavur.

The tourist group was returning when the bus met with an accident. It is reported that the bus lost control at a bend and plunged into a 30-foot-deep gorge. It got stuck in the trees on the slope. There were 34 passengers and two staff members on the bus. It is reported that the brake failure caused the accident.

Fire force teams from Peerumedu and Mundakkayam are involved in rescue operations. The bus left for Thanjavur on Sunday morning and was supposed to return by Monday when the accident happened.
