• The National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET), conducted by the CBSE for medical and dental courses, will be held on May 6 (Sunday)
• The NEET will be held in a single stage and would be an objective-type test
• Results are likely to be declared on June 5
• The exam will be held from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm
• Candidates will be allowed to enter exam hall from 7.30 am; However, they will not be allowed to enter the hall after 9.30 am

What you can carry to exam hall
• Admit card with a passport-size photo affixed on it
• One passport-size photo to be affixed on attendance sheet
Candidates will be subjected to extensive and compulsory frisking before entering the exam centre
What you can't carry to exam hall
• Stationery items such as bits of paper, geometry box, pencil box, plastic pouch, pen scale, writing pad, eraser
• Communication devices such as mobile phone, bluetooth, earphones, microphone, pager, health band
• Wallet, goggles, handbags, belt, cap
• All ornaments including ring, earrings, nose-pin, chain/necklace, pendants, badge and brooch
• Watch, bracelet, camera
• Metallic items
• Eatable items opened or packed, even water bottle
• Candidates will be provided with blue/black ball point pen
Dress code
• Light clothes with half sleeves not having big buttons, brooch/badge, flower etc with salwar/trouser
• Slippers, sandals with low heels and no shoes
• If wearing customary dress, the candidate should report at the exam centre latest by 8.30 am
The Kerala factor
• Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan had directed all district collectors and district police chiefs to arrange help desks at major railway and bus stations in the state to provide necessary help to candidates appearing for the NEET
• Revenue and police authorities have also been directed to ensure hindrance-free travel and other facilities
• About 1,20,792 candidates will appear for the test from the state in 226 centres spread across the districts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Kannur
• Last year, the test had kicked up a controversy with a candidate from Kannur alleging that she was forced to remove her inner wear, while some others had to shorten sleeves and cut the pockets of their jeans
