The deceased woman has two children, and she and the accused belonged to the Kurku tribal community, the official said.
Both suspects were arrested, and the British High Commission was informed about the incident.
The two women are undergoing treatment at a hospital, police said.
The SIT is expediting steps to file the chargesheet and has already swooped down on 42 accused in the case.
