The decision was taken in connection with the vandalisation of Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi's office. It was found the protest march on June 24 was held without consulting the state committee.

Congress is planning to hold various protest programmes, including a march to the office of the Deputy Superintendent of Police, if there is any further delay in arresting the culprits.
Otherwise the cops wouldn't have dared to arrest the comrades who damaged Rahul Gandhi's office, said P Gagarin.
The SFI’s attack on Congress MP’s office has gained national attention and drawn flak from all quarters amid attempts to consolidate the unity of opposition among the non-BJP parties across the nation.
KR Avishith, who has been booked along with over two dozen activists, was the vice-president of the Wayanad district unit of the SFI, the students' wing of the CPM.
The SFI protest march was planned under the assumption that there would not be anyone at the Wayanad MP’s office then.
SFI state president Anusree said that the State leadership was not informed of the march.
The CPM leadership is reportedly disturbed with the developments and especially the ‘timing’ of the attack, alleging Rahul's inaction on a recent SC directive mandating buffer zones around forests.
