Shajeel has been charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
Popular dancer and reality show star Aleesha (35) died in a car accident in Mysore on Friday night.
The deceased - Parachalil Sobhana (62) and Sobha (52) – were sisters-in-law from Janakeeyamukku, Meppayyur, Kozhikode.
The deceased is Shaila Bevi (51).
The truck, transporting machinery for a pipe-well company, lost control and crashed into the car, police said.
The death toll could rise given the severity of some of the injuries.
Last rites of the family members will be held at 12.30 pm on Thursday at St. Mary's Malankara Syriac Catholic Church, Poonkavu.
