The coming-of-age story that is Dzire Dzire

From Swift Dzire to Dzire, Maruti’s compact sedan has come of age. On board the all-new Dzire, with its elegant design and a plethora of features.

Sales rev up

Every month, 10,500 Dzires on average hit the streets, making it the largest-selling car in the segment. Compact sedans are second only to hatchbacks when it comes to popular demand. Less than 4 meter in length, compact sedans come with a lower tax bill and price tag. A consumer who goes to a showroom to buy a hatchback often drives home a compact sedan.

Initial pull

Swift Dzire sedan made its debut in 2008, to cash in on the popularity of the Swift hatchback. The sedan carved a space for itself in a short time, thanks to the credibility and manufacturing quality of Maruti. Dzire turned a compact sedan from the second generation.

Miles ahead

Third-generation Dzire is miles ahead of its predecessor. The name ‘Swift’ was dropped, maybe because the new generation Swift is yet to be launched in India. Dzire has a broad grill that resembles that of the new-generation Swift unveiled in Japan last year. Headlamps with LED daytime running lights slant to the sides. Big fog lamps add to the oomph.

No patchwork

Dzire has flawless design in any angle. This elegance is the hallmark of the sedan. The 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, beautiful LED tail lamps and the chrome line that connects them elevates the rear look.

Big car

The new Dzire is slightly bigger. It is 3,995 millimeter long, while the width has been increased by 20 millimeters to 1,735 millimeters. It is shorter by 40 millimeters at 1,515 millimeters. The wheel base is greater by 20 millimeters at 2,450 millimeters.

You can’t complain of less boot space anymore. You have 879 liters of space. The car is made in a new lighter platform. The petrol model is lighter by 85 kilos than the previous version and the diesel model lighter by 105 kilos.

Premium

The interior is as good as a Zest. The wood finished dashboard panels, the large LED display, the flat bottom steering and big seats are unique features. Dials and clusters are sporty, with a mix of beige, black and chromium.

Modern

The manual-gear model comes with a touch screen multimedia system that can support Android Auto and Apple Car Play. The rear seats have their own aid-conditioner vents and charging points. The change in the wheel base provides extra space inside the car.

Driving

Dzire’s diesel variant gives you 28.4 kilometers per liter, claiming to be the car with the greatest mileage in its segment. The petrol car offers 22 kilometers.

Automatic
