Verna is a break from the past. It is hard to find traces of the old version. If you spot anything similar, they have to be from the premium Elantra. The new Verna is 65 mm longer, 29 mm broader and 30 mm higher. The wheelbase is also larger. Verna comes with Elantra’s new K2 platform. The advanced high-strength steel body is stable and safe.
If you disliked the small grill on the old version, you will fall in love with the hexagon grill. Daytime running lamp and cornering assist features are present in the head lamps. There is a projector fog lamp too. The flanks are in the Fluidic design spirit. The 16-inch alloy wheels add to the looks. The boot opens the moment you approach it with the key. The new technology is called Smart Trunk. Beautiful LED tail lamps and integrated spoiler are head turners.
Hyundai VernaVerna comes with a plethora of features in the interior. Excellent finishing and simplicity mark the central console and dashboard. The big touchscreen for navigation, electric sun roof and the ventilation system for front windows are unprecedented. The Verna even has a pin A/C vent.
The torsion beam suspension makes travel a smooth ride. ABS, EBD, rear parking censor, camera, traction control, electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, six airbags and auto dimming mirror are safety features.
Hyundai VernaThe 1.0 engine dwarfs rivals. The 1.0 litter VTVT petrol engine has 128 ps and 155 nm torque. You would hardly notice Verna revving up. Excellent handling is guaranteed.
Verna looks at a 35 percent share in the Sedan market. It’s no big deal considering the lower price tag starting at Rs 7.99 lakh.
