Revealed! The fangirl who yearned for her dear KSRTC bus | Video Manorama Online has tracked down the ardent KSRTC fan - Rosmy of Kottayam.

Thiruvananthapuram: Railfans are aplenty, but it is rare to come across fans of a local bus service. Curiously, Rosmy of Kottayam cherishes a bus plied by the much-berated Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC). Her undeterred pursuit of her favourite bus had recently forced the officials of the public transporter to revoke its transfer to a distant depot and return it to old station at Erattupetta. Her frantic calls enquiring about it had gone viral on social media.

But no one knew the identity of the caller so far. Now, Manorama Online has tracked down the ardent KSRTC fan.

"I am literally a fan of the KSRTC bus. I take that bus every day to reach home. I could not even imagine that bus being taken away. I only have good memories associated with the bus. Hence made the call, but I never thought the conversation would become this viral," she told Manorama Online on Tuesday.

The extraordinary love affair came to light when an inspector at the Aluva KSRTC depot received a call from an unidentified woman. The woman, who claimed to be a regular passenger on the route, said that she was shattered when she heard that the bus was taken away from Erattupetta.

She had called the Aluva depot after she enquired about the bus at the Erattupetta depot. The KSRTC inspector, C T Johny, tried to explain that the corporation usually shifts the buses from depot to depot but the caller would have none of it. “That bus was our heart, sir,” she was heard saying in the recorded phone conversation that has gone viral. “Why did you have to take it away? Was the Aluva depot so deprived?”

Revealed! The fangirl who yearned for her dear KSRTC bus | Video KSRTC managing director Tomin J Thachankary was amused at Rosmy's actions.

Johny was clueless in the beginning. Then the caller explained that she was talking about the RSC 140 Venad bus that had been plying on the Erattupetta-Kaippalli-Kottayam-Kattappana route. Johny said that the corporation would have arranged for another bus. “Who wants another bus! You can change the driver or conductor but not our bus. That was the bus we had been travelling every day. We are all worried about it,” said the caller who identified herself as a degree student.

KSRTC managing director Tomin J Thachankary was amused too. He ordered the bus to be sent back to its followers, emblazoned with a heart sign and the word 'chunk (heart)' written over it. The degree student met Thachankary on Tuesday.
