Poetry installation, an innovative way of creative expression which is being explored by Kochi-based writer-filmmaker Vinod Krishna, is going places.
The latest edition of the event, featuring audio-visual expressions of four poems, is on at Vyloppilly Samskriti Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram after the succesful previous editions in Kochi.
Poems by Pablo Neruda, Amrita Pritam, Mahmoud Darwish and K. Satchidanandan have been transformed into thought-provoking installations by Vinod, who is the director of critically-acclaimed film 'Mayyankalam' and author of a short story collection titled 'Kannusoothram'.
Vinod's choice of the poets and their works for this edition of Poetry Installation also underscores his firm belief in the role of art as a medium of political resistance. The show was inaugurated by poet K. Satchidanandan on Sunday.
The art portion has been handled by Linu Chakrapani while award winning sound artist Ranganath Ravee has joined hands with Vinod thiss time too.
The poems have been recited by music composer Bijibal, actor-director Joy Mathew, singer Sayanora and poet-lyricist Ajeesh Dasan.
Vyloppilly Samskriti Bhavan is sponsoring the event which will be open till May 20.
