Oscar winner Resul Pookkutty has found fault with the jury which selected the national film awards. In a tweet, Pookutty said that competent technical persons should be included in the jury.
According to him, the jury was clueless regarding the difference between a sound designer and a sound recordist. This is reflected in the award for the best audiographer, he said. That the award went to someone who had never touched any audiography equipment was utterly shameful, he added.
The award for best audiography has gone to Mallika Das for the film Village Rockstars.
Meanwhile, Pookutty also said that he was proud that the award for the best sound designer was won by Sanal George, who was selected for the Resul Pookutty – IFFA Foundation scholarship.
The Malayalam film industry performed well at the 65th National Film Awards on Friday, registering wins in categories such as the best director and the supporting actor.
