Popular hero Dileep is back with his latest flick Welcome to Central Jail. The much awaited Sunder Das-Dileep combo, after a long hiatus of 12 years, delivers a fun -filled entertainment this Onam. 'Welcome to central jail' literally welcomes you to the fun and frolic inside a prison.

Unnikuttan, portrayed by Dileep is a simple and jovial guy who wants to spend his time in jail. Born to inmates of the jail, he simply loves to stay there, for he feels the presence of his parents in the prison. To make his way into the jail, he always invites charges of crime, for which he might not even be responsible. However, the innocence in him doesn't allow him to take up heinous crimes like murder and rape. The prison is Unnikuttan's second home, where he spends time with his friends. Most of them are in the prison for crimes that they later feel guilty for committing. You can see a wailing Sharafudheen who cries remembering his mother, who died in an accident that he was responsible for. Several other characters in jail are experts in opening locks, escaping from guard dogs, and what not. You can enjoy a series of comedic events rolling out of the free hearts locked inside the prison.

But life changes for Unnikuttan when he meets Radhika (Vedhika). A photographer, she is also an orphan like Dileep. The simple, easy going life of the hero quickly changes when he knows that the love of his life is in trouble. The second half reveals why Radhika is in trouble, and for her, there is no one to help, but Unnikuttan. In the chase to bring out the truth and save her reputation, Unnikuttan has a squadron of enemies to fight off, where simple lessons learnt from jail help him all along. His efforts are rewarded momentarily and he wins.

But wait, that's not all. Life gets tougher for him inside the jail as the jail warden, a close well-wisher of Unnikuttan is replaced by a tough and stringent ally of his enemy. Will he manage to fight back to protect his lady love Radhika?

Welcome to Central jail, in its first half, offers you a 100 per cent fun saga; the one you can completely enjoy this festive season. The second half is reduced to a mere game of heroic action which sees a lack of depth in the plot. At a few places, certain scenes might even remind you of earlier Dileep flicks.

Dileep-Sharafudheen combo promises quite a laugh riot. The character of the police official played by Shajon also adds to the excitement. Another jail inmate, Hareesh Perumanna, keeps the humor intact from the very beginning to the end.

The on-screen chemistry between Dileep and Vedhika in Welcome to Central jail, after Sringaravelan, spreads color through the songs. Sung by Nadirsha, 'Police aanu thaaram', shows a cheerful Dileep, dancing with his jail inmates. Sundaree song, sung by Shankar Mahadevan and Renjini Jose sets you off in a good mood, where you can enjoy the Dileep-Vedhika dance number. Bijibal's background score is the best thing about the film.

The comical entertainer also has Siddique, Renji Panicker, Aju Varghese, Balachandran Chullikadu, Sreejith Ravi, Thesni Khan, Veena Nair and Vinaya Prasad in pivotal roles.

After Kalyanaraman, Kunjikoonan and Marykkundoru Kunjaadu, the flick which reunites scriptwriter Benny P. Nayarambalam and Dileep is recommended only for a one time watch.
