Kochi: The FIFA Under-17 World Cup winner's trophy tour will reach Kerala on Friday. The trophy will reach the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi, the lone venue of the tournament in the state, at 10.45 am on Friday. State minister for sports A.C. Moideen will unveil the trophy.

Entry has been restricted to official invitees and media. From 11.30 am onwards, the public can visit the venue to see the World Cup.

On Saturday, the trophy will be moved to Ambedkar Stadium near KSRTC stand, where the state-level opening of FIFA 11 million football festival will be held. Students of city schools visit the venue from 11 am to 3 pm. On Sunday, a colorful farewell ceremony will be held at the Vasco da Gama square in Fort Kochi.

Kerala government has spent around Rs 47.33 crore inclusive of the Rs 12. 44 crore received from the Union government for undertaking works connected with the organization of the World Cup.

Following are the major renovations brought about at the Kochi venue:

» New Individual bucket seats for all spectators

» 2 new team dressing rooms

» 2 new referees' dressing rooms

» Improved toilets, stairs, and evacuation facilities for spectators

» Complete new fire fighting system

» 3 new training grounds with floodlights

» Dressing rooms and international standard pitch
