And we have been told that an Assamesse youth, Ameer ul-Islam, is her killer. But what prompted the 23-year-old migrant laborer to kill Jisha so brutally? There are more questions than answers even at this stage when the cops are recreating the crime scene with Ameer in tow.
Many a theories are being floated by the so-called sources and the media channels on a daily basis. The truth is we are no nearer to the truth than we were in the initial stage of probe, other than the fact that we have a name for the suspected killer, who keeps appearing on TV channels as the cops lug him around, his face masked.
» We have been told that Ameer has confessed of his crime, but this statement holds no value in a court of law. Where is the evidence that he committed the crime?
» Ameer reportedly said that his friend Anar ul-Islam had attacked Jisha. Is he the real killer?
» And where is Anar, who helped police nab Ameer? How could he escape if he was constantly in touch with the cops? Have the cops bungled and are trying to make up for that with putting Ameer alone in the dock?
» The murder weapon has been reportedly found. But Keralites, for whom the S-shaped knife episode from a previous case are still fresh in memory, can take that only with a pinch of salt. And where are the bloodstained clothes worn by the suspect that could have acted as crucial evidence?
» AND THIS IS IMPORTANT: Jisha's last words were in Malayalam, witnesses have said, something on the lines of “This is why I do not trust anyone.” If it was the Assamese youth who she spoke to, why would she shout in Malayalam? Did Ameerul have a Malayali accomplice?
» Ameerul apparently came well-planned for the murder; he carried a knife with him when he went to Jisha's house. How could such a man carelessly leave his footwear – which is now a crucial piece of evidence – near the house when he fled the scene? Mind you, neither was he chased away nor did anyone see him getting away in haste so as to arouse suspicion.
» How did the cops identify the shop that sold the pair of footwear; they are of a kind that is retailed by many shops.
» How is it that a shopkeeper remembered and identified a migrant labourer from among the many customers he deal with every day?
» Even if it was Ameer's footwear, any of his friends including Anar, could have used it to throw the police off track?
» Reports say Ameerul was slapped by a woman at a bathing ghat of a canal. Jisha witnessed the incident and made fun of him, and he killed her in vengeance, cops say. If that is the case, isn't it common sense to ask why he spared the woman who slapped him?
» It is said that Ameerul didn't throw away his phone because it was loaded with porn. It is a little difficult to believe he valued the porn in his phone above getting away from the law?
