Manjita Vanzara was born into a family of civil service officers yet it took her a few years to find her true calling. She let herself pursue an engineering degree as her family wanted but her ambitions lay elsewhere.
After her graduation, Vanzara pursued a post graduate degree in fashion designing rather than looking for a cushy job in the information technology sector. She joined a leading fashion brand company.
Today, Manzara is the assistant commissioner of police in Ahmedabad. Her tortuous journey is a testimony for everyone who does not want to compromise their ambitions.
Vanzara’s parents never created hurdles in her career path. She was free to choose her calling. She had a premium car at her disposal yet she relied on public transport to get to know the land and the people better.
As she became more and more aware of the problems faced by society, she wanted to be a police officer. She appeared for the civil service exam in 2013 and was awarded with the IPS.
Vanzara is an accomplished Kuchipudi dancer as well.
