Thiruvananthapuram: The death toll in the accident involving an ambulance and a KSRTC bus near Kunnikkode in Pathanapuram has risen to four.
The accident occurred when the Thenkassi-bound KSRTC bus from Kollam collided with the ambulance coming from the opposite direction. The ambulance was heading for Thiruvananthapuram Medical College hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Sherif (30) of Malankav, Sherif's sister Sabeena (34), their grandmother Fathima Beevi (80) of Kadakkamon and the driver of the ambulance Subin Thomas (28) of Pidavoor.
Fathima Beevi's daughter Hajira Beevi, who sustained severe injuries, is undergoing treatment at the medical college hospital.
The accident occurred when Fathima Beevi, who collapsed following high blood pressure, was being taken to Thiruvananthapuram medical college hospital.
