Kollam Paunnathala Panthirikkal Thoppil Suamalayathil P. Padmakshi, 84, widow of P. Karunakaran, died on Wednesday.
The goats were kept in a room in her unoccupied ancestral home. Padmakshi used to live in an adjacent house with her daughter. She found the goats bitten to pieces and dead as she went there for a routine check. The dogs had broken doors and rushed in.
The goats had been dragged to the verandah. One of them was carrying. Padmakshi's children lived on three sides of the ancestral home. She called them in and was talking to them when she collapsed and died.
