Thiruvananthapuram: Film star Sreenath's wife Latha has demanded to clear the mystery over the actor’s death. It is not clear how and when the injuries and bruises on his dead body were inflicted. His wallet and mobile phone were also suspiciously missing, she said.
The recent revelations and developments in the Malayalam film industry increase our doubts. But we are not pointing fingers at any one particularly, Latha said. She will lodge a complaint with chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan and DGP Loknath Behra in this regard.
The post mortem report which revealed that there were 11 injuries and bruises on Sreenath's dead body is the main reason for the family's doubts. Manaroma News got the copy of the post mortem report.
Actor Sreenath was found in a critical condition with his wrist slashed with blade at a hotel in Kothamangalam on 23 April 2010. He died on his way to the hospital. The police dismissed it as a clear case of suicide. But the post mortem report stated that there were 11 injuries and bruises on his body. Most of the injuries were on his hands, legs and back of the body. It is unnatural, the family of the deceased actor said.
The actor's relatives had approached the then chief minister V.S. Achuthanandan and home minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan demanding a detailed inquiry into the death. But it did not yield any results. Latha, who was left devastated by the untimely death of her husband, could not pursue the case further. She is living with her son in a small rented house in Thiruvananthapuram.
Six months back she filed a RTI petition seeking the case file of Sreenath's death. But Kothamangalam police station replied that it was missing. With this reply, she determined to take up the case once again.
