Representational imagePalakkad: Three-year-old Sreesabari, who was riding pillion with his father on a bike fell victim to a pothole related accident near Ottapalam railway station.
The accident took place when an auto-rickshaw coming from behind hit the two-wheeler after his father slowed down the vehicle seeing a pothole.
Sreesabari, admitted to a hospital, with internal bleeding could not be saved.
The child's mother who was traveling along with them also suffered severe injuries in the leg.
People blocked the road in Ottapalam in protest against the civic body's apathy.
