As actor Dileep was denied bail by the Kerala High Court on Monday, producer and former Kerala film exhibitors federation president Liberty Basheer have come out with more allegations against the actor.
“When Dileep was arrested, many claimed that people like (CPM state secretary) Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and I were behind it. With the HC judge denying bail, people should know that Dileep is the main culprit,” he said.
He further added, “Dileep was plotting bigger conspiracies than the February 17 attack. He had targeted stars including Sreekumar, Geetu Mohandas and Samyuktha Verma. They are just lucky that such things didn’t happen to them. Dileep’s manager Appuni knows more details. Once the police question him, more startling revelations will be made.”
During the court hearing, the prosecution had contended that Dileep was the main conspirator. "This the first such case in the country where a quotation was assigned to sexually assault a woman.”
Earlier on February 17, the Malayalam actress was attacked by six people including Pulsar Suni, the main accused in the case. On June 29, Dileep was interrogated by a police team for 13 hours and he was arrested on July 10. The police are still looking for Dileep’s manager, Appunni, who went absconding after the actor's arrest.
