Kochi: One month after he was arrested for plotting the sensational actress attack case, the Kerala police have finalized the charge sheet with actor Dileep as the second accused.

Dileep, who has spent a month in Aluva sub jail, was initially the 11th accused. He will become the second accused as he allegedly assigned a 'quotation' to main accused Pulsar Suni to carry out the crime and was part of the conspiracy to execute it. Pulsar Suni will continue to be the first accused.

The police claimed great progress in the investigation of the case within a month of Dileep's arrest. Investigators moved to ready the charge sheet as they obtained clear, scientific evidence of the conspiracy hatched by the accused.

However, the special investigation team (SIT) has instructions not to waste time at this stage seeking 'madam,' the character Suni had been talking about right from the beginning of the probe.

The law grants 90 days for police to keep the accused under judicial custody and carry out investigation into such extremely grave cases.

One of the two lawyers, who confessed to having destroyed the cellphone - a crucial evidence in the case, could become an approver in the case. The Indications are that there could be two more arrests.

Drafting of the charge sheet is entrusted to the same team of SIT officers who handled the Perumbavoor Jisha murder case charge sheet.

Meanwhile, the High Court on Wednesday dismissed the bail plea of of two accused in the case. Fourth accused Abin Kuriakose and fifth accused Bibin Paul, both from Mazhuvannor, had sought bail.
