Parassala: As Kerala politics reaches near boiling point over the revelations in the Solar Commission report, the woman at the center of the scam, Saritha Nair, has ventured into a new business in neighboring Tamil Nadu.
Set up near the Kerala border at Thakkalai, Saritha's VS Eco Products makes paper carry bags, cups and plates. Besides, she is also managing a solar power project at Aruppukottai near Madurai.
While the sales outlet at Thakkalai is along the National Highway, she has a manufacturing unit on the way to the Padmanabhapuram Palace.
The shop was set up last month. Saritha is not a frequent visitor to the shop and has 10 people working for her. At present, the products made in the unit are distributed at various areas in Kanyakumari district.
Saritha is the operations manager of the solar power plant, which is owned by a north Indian company.
