Manorama bags 8 state television awards

Thiruvananthapuram: Manorama has bagged eight of the Kerala State Television Awards announced Tuesday. Five of these are for Manorama News. The winners are Nisha Purushothaman – best news anchor (Sandhya vartha); Fiji Thomas – best commentator (Nattupacha); Nallapadhom – best educational program (directed by Karthika Thampan); Parvathi Kuriakose – anchor of best educational program Nallapadhom; Santosh S. Pillai – best news cameraman (Mazha Och).

Malayala Manorama (Kottayam) chief sub-editor G R Indugopan was chosen the best story writer for the 'Kaligandhaki' telefilm telecast on Amruta TV.

Mazhavil Manorama won the following awards: 'Kuttikalodano Kali' – best entertainment TV show; Niyaz Bakar – commendation for excellence in acting (Marimayam). Best TV show gets Rs 20,000 and the educational program Rs 25,000. The other awards carry Rs 10,000.

Other awards

'Nilavum Nakshatrangalum,' directed by G R Krishnan, has been chosen as the best serial in the features section of the Kerala State TV awards. Krishnan Balakrishnan wins the best actor prize for 'Kaligandagi' running on Amruta TV, while Amala Gireeshan's role in 'Neermathalam' telecast by Asianet TV.

Madhupal is the best director, for his work 'Kaligandagi.'
