Thiruvananthapuram: Candidates intending to take the Kerala Public Service Commission's examination for assistant posts can confirm their attendance for the June 9 test until May 20. However, out of the around 6.70 lakh eligible applicants, only 4.23 lakh have informed their willingness to take the exam till Wednesday.
The state recruiter is conducting the exam for filling vacancies of assistants in four categories in various companies, corporations and boards. If a one-time confirmation is not given by the candidates, they cannot write the exam. Though the PSC received 11.98 lakh applications, only around six lakh candidates were found eligible for the test for various categories.
With around 2.5 lakh applicants yet to give confirmation, the PSC authorities have cautioned candidates that they would lose the chance to attend the exams.
The PSC is also conducting an exam for the posts of assistant information officer in PRD and junior assistant in KEL (Kerala Electrical & Allied Engineering Company). There are around 70,000 applicants for these posts.
