New Delhi: As many as 72,682 candidates from Kerala qualified for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2018 for MBBS and BDS admissions, putting the state in the second spot behind Uttar Pradesh.
Jess Mariya Benny from Angamaly got the 56th rank and topped the list from Kerala.
Uttar Pradesh leads the rank list with 76,778 winners.
Kalpana Kumari from Bihar, a resident of Delhi, won the All-India Rank 1 (AIR 1) with a record-breaking 99.99 percentile – 691 marks out of 720.
Rohan Purohit from Telangana and Himamshu Sharma from Delhi share AIR 2 with 690 marks each.
The Entrance Examination Commissioner in Kerala will supervise the admission to medical and related seats in Kerala on a separate rank list based on the NEET ranking.
A total of 12.69 lakh students appeared for NEET, of which 7.14 lakh qualified. The cut-off mark was less than last year. It was 119 in the general category, 96 for SC/ST/ OBC and 107 for the physically challenged.
