“The exams got over on 15 June. It would take at least 45 days to complete the evaluation. I have spoken to the CBSE officials. The results would be published on time,” said Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan
CBSE Class-12 students are anxious that the delay in the publication of results would dampen their college admission prospects.
Students from the Thiruvananthapuram region have recorded best pass percentage (99.68%) in Class 10.
The evaluation process is underway and it is expected that the results will be announced by July 15, they said.
The CBSE results are likely to be published only by mid-July. Currently, the evaluation of the answer papers is progressing.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that it will declare the final results of classes 10 and 12, even if the students have missed either of the two term exams, due to various reasons including testing positive for COVID-19.
Asked about the rationale behind the decision, CBSE officials maintained the changes were part of rationalisation of syllabus and in alignment with NCERT recommendations.
The rising cases of COVID-19 have sparked concerns of possible school closures yet again even as experts have warned against the long term learning losses caused by prolonged closure.
The exam will now be held on April 21, 24, 25, 29 and May 1 and 4. Earlier, the first session was scheduled from April 16 to 21.
The Supreme Court Wednesday refused to entertain a plea seeking cancellation of offline board examinations for classes 10 and 12 to be conducted by the CBSE and several other boards this year.
