The Supreme Court Wednesday refused to entertain a plea seeking cancellation of offline board examinations for classes 10 and 12 to be conducted by the CBSE and several other boards this year.
The pattern of the question papers will be same as that of sample question papers hosted on the board's website. The students will appear in the examinations from the allotted examination centres as done during the preceding years
The apex court passed the order while hearing the pleas of the students who wrote the improvement exam. They appealed to the court to not cancel the marks of their previous exams.
Excerpts from the passage have gone viral on social media platforms with users calling out the board for supporting "misogynistic" and "regressive opinions" and the hashtag "#CBSEinsultswomen" trending on Twitter.
In the Class-10 CBSE exam conducted on Saturday, the English paper carried a comprehension passage with sentences such as "emancipation of women destroyed the parents' authority over the children"
Those who complete the registration process now would be allowed to attend the class 10 and 12 board exams that would be held in the academic year 2022–23.
The matter was even raised in the Parliament with demands for liberal valuation of the answer papers
The multiple choice question in the sociology exam asked: "The unprecedented scale and spread of anti-Muslim violence in Gujarat in 2002 took place under which government?"
