More than 60 students were indisposed following suspected food poisoning cases reported from Kayamkulam, Kottarakara and Vizhinjam in southern Kerala in the last couple of days.
This runs contrary to the provisions contained in the Central education policy which stipulates that a student should have reached the age of six years for joining Class 1.
Regarding the distribution of textbooks to students for the upcoming academic year, Education Minister Sivankutty said that it would be completed before the school reopening planned on June 1.
Sivan Kutty also pointed out that the initial plan was to provide training to two lakh mothers as part of the second 100 days programme of the state government, but later it was increased to 3 lakhs.
The Minister said that the boycott of paper evaluation by school teachers was a conspiracy and that the government will investigate the matter.
A section of the teachers pointed out that the Plus-Two Chemistry question paper was difficult and there were spelling mistakes.
It comes after Kerala Education Minister V Sivankutty said in a tweet that no officials from the state visited Delhi as claimed by Atishi on Saturday.
The minister issued a clarification after Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Atishi Marlena tweeted about the visit of 'officials from Kerala' to a school in Kalkaji.
In all 9.58 lakh students in 7,077 government and aided schools would be given free handwoven uniform cloth. Each school can design their own gender-neutral uniform.
The new dates are from June 13 to 30.
