It has been a while since Dileep's Professor Dinkan was announced. The film, which marks the directorial debut of K. Ramachandra Babu, is scripted by Rafi.
Talking to Onmanorama, the editor of the movie, Rajesh Mangalackal, opened up on the most interesting aspect of Professor Dinkan' "It is for the first time in the history of Indian Cinema that a Malayalam movie has launched spot editing in 3D. Professor Dinkan will be the first comedy-drama filmed completely in 3D. All equipment have been specially imported. It took a while for us to actually test it and formally use it for work. The research and development was going on since last three years. That's why there was a big delay in the schedule,'' he said.
For a regular movie editor, it wasn't an easy job, Rajesh said. "I hope such an effort will widen the scope of 3D projects in future. There needed special work on graphics and the VFX team which worked for Baahubali have joined us. We do edits and at the same time watch shots and scenes in 3D. There are high-end configured machines imported from abroad and many of them have been custom designed such as 128GB RAM, 12GB video memory and raid storage systems. A vehicle has been specially made solely for editing purpose on the location.''
The specially created editing vehicleThe movie with Dileep in the lead will also see Rafi and Namitha Pramod in pivotal roles. Dileep will be playing a magician in the film, whose tricks go wrong and affect many lives. Namitha will be playing the part of the magician's daughter. Touted as a fun film, the movie is aimed at children and family audiences.
