Dileep-starrer Ramaleela is one of the most-awaited projects of 2017. However, since the actor's arrest on July 10 for allegedly plotting the February 17 actress attack, the release of the movie has been indefinitely delayed.
Recently an online portal reported that the movie would be released on September 22. But now, Ramaleela director Arun Gopy has come out with a clarification regarding the release date.
The director wrote on Facebook: “Rumours have become the latest definition for 'news'. We get to hear rumours about the release of the movie Ramaleela on 22 September. Surprisingly, the Ramaleela team is unaware about this bit of news. We would like to inform that the release date will be announced shortly. Thank you. Ramaleela” (sic.)
Plus, reports say that Dileep want to clear the air about his alleged involvement in the case before the release of any of his movie. Dileep feels that otherwise his current 'negative image' could adversely affect the movie's performance at the box office.
Ramaleela, which features Dileep as politician Ramanunni, is scripted by writer-director Sethu. While Prayaga Martin is the female lead, Radhika Sarathkumar essays a pivotal role in the movie.
