The 1989-Mohanlal movie Vandanam remains a favorite to most of the Keralites. The characters Unni and Gadha, and their pranks and fun-filled love story still leave Keralites in splits.
After working in six movies, out of which only four were released, the British-Indian actress, Girija Shettar, bid farewell to the filmdom. But the one and only film she did in Malayalam, gave her a special place in Keralites' hearts.
Recently, in an interview with a daily, the actress revealed that she never knew that the scene ‘Gadha-Jam’ had got a cult status in Kerala. “Watching the ‘Gadha-Jam’ scene now, I think the reason it worked because of an innocence it had. There is a playfulness, which I would personally credit to Mohanlal’s wholesomeness and genuineness, as well as to the boldness of the character I played,” she said.
The latest photos of the actress is now breaking the Internet and it seems fans back in Kerala want to see her once again on the big screen.
